Requests pile up in inboxes, waiting for someone to notice.

by Nicolas Bize

Every company runs on small requests.

Most of them get stuck between two teams.

My work happens right in that gap.

Business on one side, IT on the other.
Scroll to follow what changes in between.

When work grows faster than the team,
every inbox turns into a

backlog.

Find where the work waits. It is rarely the people. It is usually a handover: an email nobody owns, a spreadsheet only one person understands, an approval stuck in someone's holiday.

Let the rules
do the sorting.

Fifty incoming tickets. Switch rules on or off, then run the queue. Whatever no rule can handle goes to a person, and that is the point: automation takes the routine so people get time for the tricky cases.

  1. The work,
    on file.

Two papers from my Wirtschaftsinformatik HF studies, published in full. Company names are blacked out; everything else is as submitted.

  2. HF paper · Requirements engineering

    Specifying a digital service portal

A Swiss energy utility wants installers and business customers to file grid-connection requests online instead of by email and phone. I worked out what the portal must do, for whom, and what fits in a CHF 150,000 budget.

Choosing a ticket system, on evidence

An education provider handles IT support by email and phone. I compared Jira Service Management, Zendesk and Freshservice with a weighted utility analysis and a three-year cost comparison.

  4. Side project · Python · applied AI

    A tokenizer, built from scratch

Language models read tokens, not words. I built a byte pair encoding tokenizer like GPT’s in Python, without tokenizer libraries, to see how text gets cut up. Type your own text and watch it split.

ResolvedAbout

The person
behind the ticket.

As a
Business informatics student with a commercial foundationKaufmann EFZ and Dipl. Wirtschaftsfachmann VSH, now in the Wirtschaftsinformatik HF programme at IFA St. Gallen.
I want to
Close the gap between the people who run processes and the systems they run onWith requirements engineering, IT service management, data and applied AI.
So that
Organisations stop patching structural problems with manual workaroundsand start scaling through clean data, automated workflows and well-governed AI.

In one sentence

Most IT tickets aren't software bugs. They are broken business processes showing up on a screen.

I started on the commercial side, so I know how business users actually work. Now I am adding the IT half, and I build my own PCs for fun.
